About
My name is Joni Oskari Enzio Juutilainen (b. 1983), I'm a Finnish cinematographer and a MA graduate of Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture - Department of Film and Scenography - Cinematography (formerly Taideteollinen Korkeakoulu TaiK).
I have experience working on film and digital mediums on productions such as feature films, tv-dramas, commercials, documentaries, short films and music videos.
I believe that my job as a cinematographer, is to visually enhance the story and supports the director’s vision throughout the entire production. I seek the most suitable style and approach for each project and convey a mood with lighting, framing and camera movement. It's all about strong composition, expressive lighting and sensitive approach.
As someone who has worked my way through the ranks within the camera department, I have gained a thorough knowledge of running larger sets. I believe in team work, good communication and value a pleasant and respectful working environment.
Besides my work as a cinematographer, I love to spend time with my small son and my better half. I like to go on nature walks, explore and discover new places, and go on long kayak trips to the southern islands of Finland. I'm a lover of photography and play alto saxophone and guitar.
I'm based in Helsinki, available for work world-wide, and always excited to hear about new projects and collaborators, so feel free to contact me!
